If your Kindle still works, paying for an entire new reader just to turn a page from under a blanket is a rather expensive finger workout. Amazon announced the $34.99 Kindle Click on October 1. It says the Bluetooth remote works with Kindles released in 2024 or later. So, if your current model qualifies, keep it. The $79.99 Page-Turn Cover is a different option: its built-in buttons are for the new Paperwhite Signature Edition and Colorsoft Signature Edition. Before you buy either, check your Kindle’s release year. “11th generation” by itself can send you to the wrong checkout.
Confirmed announcement · Verified October 1, 2026, 1:46 p.m. PDT. Compatibility and U.S. launch prices come from Amazon’s U.S. announcement. These accessories were not tested for this article.

2024 or newer Kindle
Start with the separate remote if your reader already does everything else you need. Avoid paying for a screen upgrade you did not want.

2026 Signature Edition
Consider the cover only if you want attached buttons and the matching new reader already suits you. Count the device and accessory together.

Older or uncertain model
A 2022 basic Kindle is also called 11th generation, but it falls outside Amazon’s announced 2024-or-later Click range. Verify the release before ordering.
What Amazon actually announced
Click uses Bluetooth; the cover attaches magnetically and connects through pins. That distinction changes where your hand needs to be: a remote can stay with you while the reader is propped elsewhere, whereas case buttons stay beside the screen.
For cover fit, Amazon’s Japanese release explicitly says 2026 Signature Editions; the U.S. announcement names those editions in its new lineup. Treat an older Signature Edition as outside the cover’s stated fit unless an exact U.S. listing later says otherwise.
An announcement is not a delivery promise. Check the exact U.S. accessory listing for availability before ordering; a reader being on sale does not establish when its accessories will arrive.
Kindle Click compatibility: check the year, not just “11th generation”
Here is the trap: Amazon’s own device list calls both the 2022 and 2024 basic Kindle “Generation 11.” The Click announcement draws the line at 2024. A listing, old receipt or settings screen that only says “11th generation” cannot settle this purchase.

Outside Amazon’s announced 2024-or-later Click group. Do not infer support from “11th gen.”
Within the release-year group Amazon says Click supports. Verify your exact device before ordering.
No Click support announced for this release-year group. Keep using a working reader while you consider proven alternatives.
Buying a 2022 model in 2024 does not turn it into a 2024 release. If the model year is unclear, use Amazon’s Identify Your Kindle E-Reader guide before treating the remote as compatible.
Kindle Click or Page-Turn Cover: which path is sensible?

Choose Click if you already have a qualifying Kindle and want to turn pages while the reader sits on a stand, tray or pillow. That is the financially calmer experiment than replacing a working reader. It does not add a bigger screen, color or a warm light; if those are the real reasons you want a new Kindle, judge the device upgrade on those merits separately.
Choose the Page-Turn Cover if you want buttons attached to the reader and already intend to buy a 2026 Paperwhite Signature Edition or Colorsoft Signature Edition. Add the cover cost to the reader: the U.S. launch prices are $249.99 for Paperwhite Signature Edition and $319.99 for Colorsoft Signature Edition. With the cover, that is $329.98 or $399.98 before tax. Those totals are arithmetic from launch prices, not current checkout quotes. I would pay that premium only if attached buttons or the new reader’s other features solve a real problem for me. Comfort can be a valid reason; novelty alone is a pricier one.
Wait or skip if you have an older Kindle. Click is not an announced purchase for your model. A third-party clip-on page turner may be another route, but check its exact compatibility rather than guessing from a similar-looking device.
For readers whose real job is handwritten meeting notes, the separate TPTK guide to digital notebooks for business meetings covers that decision. This page is about page-turn controls, not choosing a work notebook.
How to check your Kindle before ordering
- Open Amazon’s official Kindle identification guide.
- Match the model information on your device or in your Amazon account to the guide’s release year. A purchase date and a generation number alone can mislead.
- For Click, compare that release year with Amazon’s 2024-or-later announcement. For the Page-Turn Cover, require an exact match to the 2026 Paperwhite Signature Edition or Colorsoft Signature Edition listing.
- Check the exact U.S. accessory product listing for current compatibility and availability before spending. If the listing conflicts with the announcement, hold off until Amazon clarifies it.
A case that looks like the right size is not proof its pins and controls will work.
What remains unknown
I have not tested pairing, button feel, range, reliability, battery life or whether the cover is comfortable to hold. Nor is an announced rollout a guaranteed delivery date. Check the exact listing and post-release tests when available; I will update this page if Amazon changes the support list.
Quick questions
Does Kindle Click work with every 11th-generation Kindle?
No. Amazon identifies both a 2022 and a 2024 basic Kindle as 11th generation, while its Kindle Click announcement says 2024 or later. Confirm the release year of your exact device.
Can I use the Page-Turn Cover with a 2024 Paperwhite Signature Edition?
Do not assume it fits. Amazon Japan explicitly names the 2026 Signature releases. Verify an exact U.S. listing before buying a cover for an older reader.
Do I need a new Kindle to get page-turn buttons?
Not necessarily. Start by identifying your current reader and deciding whether you want a separate remote or buttons attached to the case. Upgrade only after checking the matching route above.
